Mixam are an online printing company with a difference. They boast one of the most advanced print ordering systems currently available which helps to put them leaps and bounds ahead of their competitors. Recently they launched a new range of printed hardcover books. To help promote this new service I was asked to design a book that would showcase Mixam's printing capability. The book would be posted out to potential customers who enquired about the product.
I've always found that receiving a nicely printed item can be a multi-sensory experience, so this formed the basis of the idea and 'Sensational' was born. We reached out to a dozen professional illustrators, based both in the UK and abroad, to create us art for the pages of the book. Each spread focussed on a different amazing fact which related to the human senses. The illustrators' brief was simple, visually interpret the fact in any way they pleased, and make it colourful.
